Privacy policy

ShiroCode is built to help you learn, not to collect data about you. This page explains, in plain words, what we keep and why.

Last updated October 22, 2026

What we collect

  • Your account: a username, your email address and your password (stored only as a salted hash).
  • Your progress: finished lessons, answers for spaced review, XP, streaks and saved exam or challenge code, so it follows you to other devices.
  • Code you run: programs you run in the editor are sent to our server, run in a sandbox and discarded.
  • Tutor chats: questions you ask the AI tutor, together with what is on screen, are sent to answer them. Chats are kept on your device, not on our servers.

How AI is used

Tutor answers are made by Claude models from Anthropic, reached through OpenRouter. They receive only what is needed for the request and are not used by us to train models.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data and there are no ads or third-party trackers. We use a few providers to run the service: Cloudflare (servers, database), Render (website hosting), OpenRouter (AI requests) and Resend (account emails such as verification).

Emails

We send account emails only: verifying your address and, if needed, important notices about the service. No newsletters unless you ask for them.

Your choices

You can change your details in the app. To get a copy of your data or delete your account and everything in it, email hello@shironc.com from the address on your account.

Children

The service is meant for learners aged 13 and up. If you are younger, please use it with a parent or guardian.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will say so in the app. Questions? Write to hello@shironc.com.
